DONATION OF A PROSTHESIS FOR MARIJA FILIPOVIĆ
06/10/2025“From the Heart to Corfu” is a humanitarian mission undertaken by three friends with the goal of honoring the heroic endeavor of the Serbian Army during the Great War and, at the same time, raising funds for our Foundation’s initiative “Let All Children Jump,” through which we collect donations for the purchase of dynamic prosthetic limbs for children under the age of 15 in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia.
Our heroes – Tomislav Dragićević, Bojan Brajković, and Đorđe Jokić – accompanied by technical support Predrag Stajčić, walked a total of 703 kilometers. They started from Paraćin and walked all the way to Igoumenitsa, from where they took a ferry to Corfu – their planned final destination.
“The journey through Macedonia lasted eight days and was perhaps the most demanding segment, the most challenging route. Our main goal and focus was to raise donations for the Nataša Kovačević Foundation. What we have achieved at this point is that we have secured funding for at least one prosthesis – for one child,” said Tomislav Dragićević from Šabac.
The goals that united them have been fulfilled, and donations – referencing the number 703 (the number of kilometers walked) – are still arriving at the Foundation’s dedicated account at Banka Intesa.
“All those long-distance runs and walks are a major mental battle with oneself, so I’m glad that they were more than successful in this endeavor. It is an honor that they remembered the Foundation, and that all the funds raised will be donated for the procurement of dynamic prostheses for children. They managed to bring priceless smiles to children’s faces,” said Nataša Kovačević, founder of the Foundation.

“We believe that we have raised public awareness about the importance of providing this kind of assistance. Additionally, we wanted to draw attention to the sacrifice of our soldiers in the First World War, when over 200,000 Serbian soldiers lost their lives – a sacrifice which ultimately led to a magnificent victory with the breakthrough of the Salonika Front,” noted Đorđe Jokić from Belgrade.
While on their walk, they continuously shared messages through social media and the press, broadcasting them live and receiving understanding and support from the public. After completing the humanitarian mission “From the Heart to Corfu,” our heroes – all three economists by profession and employees at Banka Intesa – humbly and with dignity stated that their hearts were full.
With deep appreciation, we salute our heroes.
