Magnificent was that day in Budapest’s “Arena”. Several minutes of ovations rolled through the hall while Natasa Kovacevic was getting out on the floor and greeted with the great names of European basketball who on that day were there for only one reason: to pay honor and the respect to a girl who only a year and a half after traffic accident and amputated leg proudly returned to the court and to the sport she loves the most. In the stands fans were on their feet and on the floor names of which all opponents were “trembling” and who have been to Natasa great role models: Dejan Bodiroga, Dejan Tomasevic, Jorge Garbajosa, Radoslav Nesterovic and many others. Honor and recognition to Natasa before start of the match has been given by leaders of FIBA ​​Turgay Demirel, FIBA ​​Europe President and CEO Kamil Novak.

Before the match Natasa was awarded with special recognition by the organizers. On behalf of the Basketball Association of Serbia President Dragan Djilas handed Natasa Kovacevic Serbian national team jersey with the number seven, the number she wore while playing for the national team. Also, as a gift has been given an unusual book, “Game of beauty.” Unusual, because it is a book with blank pages, which should be completed by Natasa herself. In the end, Natasa was pleasantly surprised by her father Vukasin, who brought a bouquet of flowers.

“I’m very excited, it was a great honor to be on the field with all the legends. Thanks to everyone who came, the people with whom I was in the court they have made me proud and nervous. I received beautiful gifts … And this book that I hold is empty, and I hope i will dare to write it” said Natasa.
